Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin. Unlike most mammals, humans do not have the ability to make their own Vitamin C. Therefore, it must be obtained through our diet.

Mineral salts of ascorbic acid (mineral ascorbates) are buffered, and therefore, less acidic. Thus, mineral ascorbates are often recommended to people who experience gastrointestinal problems (abdominal pain or diarrhea) with plain ascorbic acid.

Two Birds with One Stone

Vitamin C and Magnesium are two supplements that are important to metabolism. These were the first two items I discovered in my recent search for health, and still two of my favorites. Just read information from Klenner, Cathcart, Pauling and others regarding ascorbate, plus information on www.mgwater.com regarding magnesium, and I think you can come to no other conclusion. These two supplements have helped me so much, I would say that they have given me a whole new life! I have tried a few different brands of magnesium ascorbate, and this is my favorite, as it seems to dissolve properly and thoroughly. While I mainly use C-Salts as my primary ascorbate of choice throughout the day (e.g. breakfast, lunch, and dinner), I use the magnesium ascorbate at bedtime. My wife and two boys prefer the magnesium ascorbate for the taste. It will generally give the little ones a noticeable burst of energy.
